Jets Overhead:New album out this summer

The escalating, and intoxicating sound of jets overhead is enough to draw anyone's attention.  The ever so clever name of Victoria, BC band Jets Overhead sets the stage for how their music has a way of taking over a crowd.  It controls its listeners in that the mix of experimental trance pulls you in and mesmerizes you.  Jets Overhead was started in 2003 with the release of their full-length album, Bridges in 2006.  The album is an astounding artistic development with everything about it pleasantly out of the ordinary.  The unbelievably infectious instrumentals grab hold of you in the introduction to many of their songs.  They aren't afraid to experiment with electronic sounds and harmonious lyrics.  If you close your eyes and really listen you would swear you've been thrown back into the seventies.  They definitely know a thing or two about music, and how to work together as a band.  It is evident in their sound that they are in synch as a band.  They work together as a team and with each element there it concocts a brilliant sound.  Incessant melodies and instrumental movement applies such life to each and every piece of their work.  The 5-piece band was nominated for The 2007 JUNO new group of the year and has since gone on to produce their second album due out later this summer.

Trevor Campbell: The Pattern of a Truly Delicately Spoken Musician

It is a rarity to come across a musician with such a soft and touching voice yet with such unforgettably strong lyrics. Indie musician Trevor Campbell hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Canada does just this. His vocals are delicate yet powerful that invokes such emotion in anyone in the presence of his music. His most recent album Patterns released in 2007 is the third of his musical masterpieces. His powerful lyrics come from his strong, honest, and down to earth personality and demeanor. His ambitious nature has allowed him to produce all three of his albums with many more to come, and with influences from Leonard Cohen to Ani Difranco he remains to have a very unique tone to his work. The ability to experiment with wordplay and allow listeners to relate and feel touched through his expressive lyrics are techniques that make him a very influential musician.
